Winter Solstice

As we proceed to the shortest day, when we celebrate the Winter Solstice on Dec 21, 2023, there are many wishes directed our way by businesses, casual acquaintances, friends, and family members.  We are wished Happy Holidays, Happy Hannukah, Happy Yule, Merry Christmas, Feliz Navidad, Season’s Greetings, Best wishes for a joyous holiday season!  Why all the happy and merry?  Traditionally the longest night of the year, is when the sun begins its journey back from the darkness to the fullest light. As told in the Celtic legend of the battle between the Oak King- representing the light of the new year and the Holly King. During the Yule, the Oak King conquers the Holly King until Midsummer.  Our joy is brought about by the ascendance of the Light.  The Hindus, the Chinese, the Christians, the Jews, many nationalities celebrate high feasts at this time of year because of the significance of the return of Light.

I shall join the well wishers and extend my hope for all the world.  Light, peace and love, are the gifts that I ask to be bestowed on each of the billions of humans situated on our little blue/green planet. I hope that each of you are blessed with joy and happiness throughout the cycle of seasons. I also ask for blessings on all our four footed friends who show us love, devotion, motivation, relaxation, mothering, and a multitude of other virtues.

May you feel the blessing of light, peace and love, may joy fill your hearts!
